Fashion Ambush Season Finale!

Fashion Ambush with a Colorado Twist wraps up its first season on July 28th with Peggy Ziglin, the notorious Regional Fashion Advisor for the Outlets of Colorado and her Fox 21 News partner, morning reporter Craig Coffey completing their final fashion makeover at Outlets at Castle Rock. 

During their season, they’ve visited some of the coolest places in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region, while surprising one lucky person with a complete fashion makeover.  If you would like to see the videos of from our past segments, click here.

Over the last 6 months the two ambushed unsuspecting tourists at various Colorado Springs & Pikes Peak Region attractions but this time the fashion makeover won’t be so surprising.

Why you ask? Because this time you can enter our contest at the comfort of your own home (or work). We’re taking applications (500 words or less as to why you or someone you know deserves a fashion makeover) now through June 22, 2011 at 12:00 noon. One lucky person will be selected from all of the received application and win a complete fashion makeover, valued at over $1,000.00.

• Hair and makeup transformation courtesy of the trendy (and ever so cool) STYLE Salon team.

Easter Activities for you and your Family!

Easter is this Sunday and if you are looking for something fun to do with your family, then visiting one of the Outlets of Colorado this week is the thing to do. Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne have something special planned for you and a fun way to enjoy the Easter holiday.

Outlets at Castle Rock Easter Bunny Hop (to your house). The center is having an enter-to-win contest where one lucky family is going to have a special visitor (hint, cotton tail and large ears) stop by their home this Saturday (between 1 pm and 3pm) for a special Easter Egg Hunt and Meet & Greet. The Easter Bunny, along with his friends from Harry & David and the center, will be on hand to make the visit a special memory for everyone. To enter your name into the “Easter Bunny Hop to your House” drawing and for specific information stop by Outlets at Castle Rock’s Customer Service Desk in the food court. We will be drawing the one lucky winner on Thursday, April 21, 2011.

Outlets at Castle Rock Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Join us in our food court on Saturday, April 23rd at 9:00 am  – 10:00 am where you’ll enjoy a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Eat breakfast, have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny, get your face painted, have a balloon turned into something totally cool, and much more. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at Outlets at Castle Rock’s Customer Service Desk.

Outlets at Loveland Easter Fun. Join the Outlets at Loveland on Saturday, April 23rd from 1pm to 4pm for some free Easter Fun! The event will be held in the Community Room (next to Levi’s). Children can enjoy free Easter Bunny Photos (please bring your own camera), Easter Eggs, and they will receive a Coloring Book for attending the event. To make it fun for the adults, the first 100 adults to the event with their children will receive an Easter Egg with up to $100 cash inside!

Outlets at Silverthorne celebrates Easter with their new shopping center mascot Thor. Stop by Outlets at Silverthorne Visitor’s Center this week (Tuesday through Friday) from 9am to 4pm and meet Thor. The management team will be giving out Easter candy and special coupons from the retailers at Outlets at Silverthorne. Thor can’t wait to be the Easter Bunny! He wants to show off the new demands (like sit) that he’s learning. You’ll be impressed with what this little puppy, that was rescued just a few months ago, has learned. If you “like” Outlets at Silverthorne Facebook page they are donating $0.50 per every new “like” to the League of Animals and People of Summit County – a non-profit organization helping pets from low-income homes. If you haven’t liked their yet, do so before May 31, 2011 to help raise needed funds for this great Summit County organization.

The Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne will be open Easter Sunday from 11 am to 6pm.

Welcome Thor!

Summit County is “dog country” and the Outlets at Silverthorne, being in the heart of the county, decided to celebrate the passion the mountain communities have for animals by honoring a newly adopted homeless dog as their official shopping center mascot. Thor (named after Silver”THOR”ne) was adopted by a member of the center’s management team through a rescue organization after he was found in a ravine in New Mexico. At the time, less than 10 weeks old, Thor was brought to a shelter and shortly thereafter he was making his way up to his new home in Summit County.

Outlets at Silverthorne management team saw Thor and heard about his rough start in the world and decided to help. The shopping center made him their “official mascot” in March and then invited local partners, including Bark Busters Home Dog Training, who is providing all of Thor’s professional dog training, G’day Pet Care who is supplying his first year of puppy food, and Farmers Korner Veterinary Hospital who will provide his regular scheduled vet services, to join forces.

If you’d like to meet Thor you can stop by Outlets at Silverthorne Tuesday’s through Saturday’s from 9 am to 5 pm (minus any vacations and/or days off he has scheduled). He will be in the Management Office or in our Customer Service & Summit County Visitors Center. If he’s not there you’ll find him walking with his team around the shopping center visiting with our shoppers and retailers. Thor will also be hosting and attending events throughout Summit County with his owner and the staff at Outlets at Silverthorne as he helps other homeless animals in Summit County find a new home.

Thor’s a pretty lucky dog to not only be adopted by a great family living in Summit County but to get a bigger, extended family with the community that work and shop at the Outlets at Silverthorne. Knowing this, Thor, in partnership with Outlets at Silverthorne, are making a difference. They have joined forces with LAPS (League for Animals & People of the Summit) and will donate fifty cents ($0.50) to LAPS for every new person who visits the Outlets at Silverthorne’s Facebook page (now through May 31, 2011) and “likes” their page. LAPS is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization that raises funds to support a variety of programs for the pets of low-income families living or working in the Summit County area.

This fundraising event for LAPS is just the first in a series of community activities Thor and the Outlets at Silverthorne will be doing to help homeless animals in need. To keep up with other ways Thor is helping animals in find homes follow his adventures on Outlets at Silverthorne’s Facebook page.

The Outlets of Colorado, on behalf of Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne, or on the ultimate road trip in 2011 and we are stopping at various area attractions throughout Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region with our Fashion Ambush, a Fashion Makeover with a Colorado Twist!

Working with our partners Fox 21 News, Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Style Salon we stop at an area attraction once a month and perform one Fashion Ambush makeover. One unexpected visitor receives a complete hair, make-up, and clothing makeover (valued at over $500) while hundreds of visitors receive goody bags with fun gifts, coupons, and a $10 gift card voucher.

In January we stopped off at Cheyenne Mountain Resort and surprised a new mother while she was eating a fabulous Sunday Brunch with her family. Last month we were at the Colorado Spring and ambushed an airport employee.

This month we’re heading over to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park on Sunday, April 3, 2011. We will be there at 11 am looking for our next ambush makeover. It could be you! Teens for Jeans

Did you know that 1 out 3 homeless people are under the age of 18? They are and we are thrilled that the Aéropostale organization has extended their Teens for Jeans campaign until February 21, 2011.

This is Aéropostale’s 4th Annual Teens for Jeans drive, empowering YOU to take action on youth homelessness. Drop off your gently worn jeans to any Aéropostale store (great locations include Outlets at Castle Rock and Outlets at Silverthorne) between January 17th and February 21st and they will get them to a local homeless shelter or charity.

Do You Need A Fashion Makeover?

Are you still putting your makeup on the same way you did when you were back in High School? How about your hairstyle or wardrobe for that matter. We could all use a fashion makeover to help us reignite our fashion look, but it can be an expensive adventure.

Well, Outlets of Colorado is going to change that! This Sunday, January 30, 2011 Outlets of Colorado will be giving away a complete makeover (valued at over $500 bucks) at the Mountain View Restaurant inside Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Fashion Ambush, Colorado Style.

In 2011 Outlets of Colorado will be up and down I-25 working our fashion magic. On January 30, 2011 Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne will launch The Fashion Ambush with a Colorado Twist. It’s our newest fashion makeover adventure and with the help of my sidekick Craig Coffey, morning reporter on Fox 21 television, will be “ambushing” unsuspecting individuals each month in 2011, at a variety of tourism attractions in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.

The first Ambush is planned for Sunday, January 30, at Cheyenne Mountain Resort during their Sunday Champagne Brunch at the resort’s signature Mountain View Restaurant.

One lucky diner will be selected for an on-site restyling.  The winner is rewarded with a makeover valued at $500 and awarded additional prizes such as a two night stay at Cheyenne Mountain Resort.  Ambush subjects receive a wardrobe from the Outlets’ designer retail stores like Off 5th, Ann Taylor and CAbi, a complete expert hair style from Styles Salon, professional makeup and fashion advice. The process is documented on film before, during and after the Fashion Ambush and the resulting three-minute video segment will appear on Fox 21 for several weeks– until the next Ambush occurs. 

I’m thrilled with our year-long Fashion Ambush program because we’ll provide information, entertainment, education and advice for Colorado shoppers on how best to maximize their dollars and their look, by shopping at the Outlets of Colorado in Castle Rock, Loveland and Silverthorne.

Watch Out Colorado Springs, We’ve Got a Year of Fashion Makeovers Coming this Year!

In 2011 Outlets of Colorado (home to Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne) will be taking its fashion style to various attractions in and around Colorado Springs and we’ll ambush an unexpected visitor giving them a makeover (including hair, wardrobe, and makeout). Our Fashion Ambush team will be at fun area attractions throughout the year with our partner Fox 21 News and together we’ll be showing off some of the great places to visit and while we’re there will make a few people even prettier to look at.

Our first Fashion Ambush will be on Sunday, January 30th at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We’ll be there between 11 and 2 (and of course that means we’ll be having brunch).

16th Annual Adopt-an-Angel Program

The Outlets at Silverthorne participate in the annual Silverthorne Police Department Adopt-an-Angel Program. The program provides Christmas for Silverthorne residents in need.  It has been so successful in subsequent years that the program has been expanded to include all of Summit County.  Last year over 500 children and 225 families had a merrier Christmas thanks to the support of Summit County Fire Departments, Ambulance District and Police agencies who participate in the program. 

The Outlets at Silverthorne are commitment to supporting community efforts such as the Adopt-an-Angel program and they are excited to do again this year. The center will have “angel” trees available at several outlets’ retailers including Carter’s, OshKosh and one located in the Red Village between Gap and Aeropostale. 

You can stop by any of the Angel trees at Outlets at Silverthorne and select an ornament (or more)  hanging on them that describe the age and gender of a child.   Participants select an “angel”, purchase a new toy as a gift, and take the unwrapped item to your local fire, ambulance or police department. Include the ornament with the gift so Santa’s helpers know who was in the mind of the donor when the gift was purchased.  (Anonymity of the recipient is always maintained!)

Deadline for participation is December 14 when toys should be delivered to your local fire, ambulance, or police department so Santa’s helpers have plenty of time to sort and wrap for delivery. There are over 700 children in Summit County whose Christmas will be memorable because of this program. For more information, contact any of the police departments, fire departments or ambulance departments in Summit County.  Additionally, cash donations or corporate sponsorship of the program are encouraged.
