Fashion Ambush Season Finale!

Fashion Ambush with a Colorado Twist wraps up its first season on July 28th with Peggy Ziglin, the notorious Regional Fashion Advisor for the Outlets of Colorado and her Fox 21 News partner, morning reporter Craig Coffey completing their final fashion makeover at Outlets at Castle Rock. 

During their season, they’ve visited some of the coolest places in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region, while surprising one lucky person with a complete fashion makeover.  If you would like to see the videos of from our past segments, click here.

Over the last 6 months the two ambushed unsuspecting tourists at various Colorado Springs & Pikes Peak Region attractions but this time the fashion makeover won’t be so surprising.

Why you ask? Because this time you can enter our contest at the comfort of your own home (or work). We’re taking applications (500 words or less as to why you or someone you know deserves a fashion makeover) now through June 22, 2011 at 12:00 noon. One lucky person will be selected from all of the received application and win a complete fashion makeover, valued at over $1,000.00.

Winner will receive:

• A fabulous fashion wardrobe from Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue at Outlets at Castle Rock.
• Hair and makeup transformation courtesy of the trendy (and ever so cool) STYLE Salon team.
• Fashion tips on looks best for you.

• Your makeover and story will be featured on FOX 21 Morning News in Colorado Springs.

Application and photo must be received by 12 noon on Friday, July 22, 2011. Winner will be notified on July 23, 2011 and must be available for filming on July 28, 2011 at Outlets at Castle Rock.

Fashion Ambush April 3.

Fox 21 News, Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors bureau, and Style Salon just finished our pre-Fashion Ambush brainstorming with the team (Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne). We’re ready for our next Fashion Ambush on April 3 at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park and you could be our next makeover.

It’s simple.

Just plan on visiting the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park on Sunday, April 3, 2011 (if you’d like to win free admissions tickets to the bridge/park visit any of the Outlets of Colorado’s websites – see above – and enter your name into our contest) and around 11 am we’ll be selecting our next makeover person.

One lucky person will win over $500 makeover that includes hair, makeup and clothing and the first 200 people to our booth (where we’re giving away awesome goodies and prizes) will take home a goodie bag that include fun gifts, coupons, and a $10 gift card voucher.

The Outlets of Colorado, on behalf of Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne, or on the ultimate road trip in 2011 and we are stopping at various area attractions throughout Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region with our Fashion Ambush, a Fashion Makeover with a Colorado Twist!

Working with our partners Fox 21 News, Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Style Salon we stop at an area attraction once a month and perform one Fashion Ambush makeover. One unexpected visitor receives a complete hair, make-up, and clothing makeover (valued at over $500) while hundreds of visitors receive goody bags with fun gifts, coupons, and a $10 gift card voucher.

In January we stopped off at Cheyenne Mountain Resort and surprised a new mother while she was eating a fabulous Sunday Brunch with her family. Last month we were at the Colorado Spring and ambushed an airport employee.

This month we’re heading over to the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park on Sunday, April 3, 2011. We will be there at 11 am looking for our next ambush makeover. It could be you! Fashion Travel Tips!

We’re just weeks away from Spring Break and then comes the summer vacation travel season. Vacation travel can get a bit overwhelming, so we’re here to help you make the most of your upcoming trips and how to make the most of what you pack. Outlets of Colorado, and its partners Fox 21 and the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, have put together some great fashion travel tips you’ll want to use as you get ready to get out-of-town:

Think Comfort: When traveling, look for fabrics that stretch like cotton knits or blends. Some of our favorites are nylon, Lycra, and spandex. These items pack better and come out wrinkle-free.

Keep Colors Basic: Colors should be basic and your separates should mix and match. Black, white, khaki and denim are ideal, but don’t be afraid of punchy colors like red or orange for summer.

Shoes: You don’t have to bring a pair of shoes for every outfit. We recommend a casual sandal and a dressy sandal (if you’re heading somewhere tropic). Bring a pair of flip-flops for the pool/beach and athletic shoes for workout or long sights-seeing trips.

Shorts, Skirts, and Tops: Great looks for the day are shorts, skirts, and tops. Take a few extra tank tops to layer or to wear on their own. One great hint I heard from a friend who is a worldwide traveler, avoid logo T-shirts or flashy designer goods, they’ll both you make stand out as a tourist.

Night on the Town: Whether you pack a short dress or long, a great dress will make any night special. We recommend a great black dress will take you anywhere.

Cardigan: In and out of air-conditioned buildings can give you the chills. A lightweight knit cardigan in basic black or white can be tossed around the shoulders. You can also create many looks with a cardigan – layer over a T-Shirt or tank dress or worn alone with dressy pants for dinner.

Accessories: A friend told me that she buys accessories while on vacation. She doesn’t bring her expensive jewelry but instead she loves to buy local treasures. She considers it her souvenir from the trip (really, do you need another magnet?).

Fashion Ambush Colorado Springs Airport!

We’re getting ready for our second Fashion Ambush (Saturday, February 26th). This time Outlets of Colorado, Fox 21, and the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau along with my fashion team from Outlets at Castle Rock, Outlets at Loveland, and Outlets at Silverthorne will be surprising an employee of the Colorado Springs Airport!

You can join in the fun and see the final results from our Fashion Ambush this Saturday 2/26). The fun starts at 10:00 am with a runway fashion show, prize wheel (and we’ve got some great prizes to give away), and a chance to be the first to see our fashion makeover before it is aired on Fox21.
